BEWARE!! WILDROSE come with thorns

Got an election call from what sounded like a bubble gum chewing young girl inquiring whether I will be supporting the WILDROSE PARTY this election by voting for Pat Stier. I told the girl "Who's Pat Stier? He ain''t never been around here?" The young girl let out an embarrassed giggle and apparently didn't know what else to say, except "thank you for your time" and quickly hung up amidst soft giggles being heard in the background.

What worries me this election is will what happened in Quebec with the NDP 'orange wave' in the last federal election repeat itself here? Will the protest vote and the personal popularity of Danielle Smith cause people to get elected that never should be?

I understand Pat Stier will not be participating in the upcoming Livingstone Macleod All-Candidates debate in Pincher Creek this week, which suggests to me he's thinking the fewer people who get to know him and what he's really all about, the better his chances are... of getting in under Danielle's skirt. Scary thought!!

So the moral behind this story I am sharing with you people is 'Roses come with thorns. Be careful you don't get pricked.'

Get all the fools on your side and you can be elected to anything.

John, not sure if I really signed onto your site with this comment. Did the present MLA get to you at the CofC Fair? John!!

There comes a time when enough is enough. The PCs have got to go!!! They have had their chance, after squandering many chances to wisely spend the windfall that Alberta residents were blessed with. The PC government has failed on MANY fronts, dating back to Getty. Adios!!!

Now....what we will get may not satisfy all of the people, but let's give someone else the chance to manage Alberta better.

Just like the Crowsnest residents had a chance to rid the Municipality of past errors, and failed miserably with the last election, it's time to give the Wildrose a chance. Many moons ago when the PCs booted the Socreds, there was the same feelings you now present. It worked for a while, then went south. TIME FOR A CHANGE!!!

I think you nailed it with this one, John. Perhaps better to be unknown and elected than known and risk being judged on merit and come up short.

Jose, you're obviously getting too much Arizona sun to be thinking because I talk to my riding’s provincial and federal government reps, who happen to be conservative, that now I’m voting conservative? Come on! Its strictly politics i.e. “know thy enemy”… or better yet “A wise man gets more use from his enemies than a fool from his friends”.

I guess tea-bagger types down there see Wildrose as a good thing and the PC’s as second best choice. Forgetting we have other parties in this race. In fact, some would venture to say, I think, better choices in fact.

The Liberals and NDP have policies and platforms of providing responsible government that puts families first, by working for them (rather than corporations who are raping the land and reducing us all to wage and debt slaves) by making them their number one priority, resonates with people today.

Considering what we have had and what we might still get, responsible and reliable government sounds good to me. As it would to most people who really think about what they’re doing, rather than just blindly following the crowd because they’re pissed and want to lash out. In other words Jose, I don’t think people should blindly vote for change (as you advocate) without really doing their homework as to who is best able to provide it.

Regarding “the residents having their chance”
I find it hilarious and just desserts that those people who got took in by the Herald (and others of their ilk) that voting for me would ‘shake’ things up too much in our municipality, now find themselves with an ‘earthquake’ on their hands. lol! :-)

For the record, I would have only caused ‘minor tremors’ compared to these guys. And I certainly would not have sold my community out to a bunch of consultants and suits from out of town, with their big city ‘police state’ attitudes, rules and regulations, which most people moving here are doing so to escape. :-(

One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics, is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.
