Economic Development Committee
Today, I submitted my letter of interest to CAO Myron Thompson in sitting on the soon to be formed Crowsnest Pass Economic Development Committee.
I encourage others, having a community minded spirit and wanting to help shape the future prosperity of our community, to do likewise.
Lord knows, with the recent debacle over Thunder in the Valley, along with councillor's publicly stating they don't know we already have a 'brand' in TITV, this municipal council can use all the help they can get!
Never doubt that a small group of people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.

I don't know if this town, in the state that it is in, needs any of your 'help'.
The state this town is in is because they did not take him up on his offer of help years ago. Only a fool would think otherwise.
Anon 3:52 Why not John Prince? I no he has a temper but other than that what has he done that is so bad.Yes, he is a liberal(sorry John)in a mostly conservative area.But from what I read on his blog about what is happening in the CNP it seems to me he does care about this place.The only other negative I can recall is when John ran for Mayor he wanted to give himself a job.The track records of the previous Mayors including the current one shows that they have failed.Everyone wanted change last election, you got it.Are you happy with it.Maybe it is time for something a little more radical.

Like the Republicans, after the Bush years wrecked havoc with a train wreck of their economy, some people here still live in denial that there was at least one person here over the years consistently standing up and speaking out about the dead-end road we were on, leading to a continual declining population base, stagnation, high taxes and economic doom and gloom.
It’s much harder to be a liberal here in the Pass than a conservative. Why? Because it is easier to give someone the finger than a helping hand. Over the years, that is all I have done here is tried to give the people here a helping hand and what I have gotten in return from the likes of Anon @ 3:52 is the finger. Go figure?

p.s. Just about to post this when I see your comment Anon 4:48. Thank you too for your support and for recognizing that maybe what this community needs is radical change, because the same old same old sure hasn't cut it, has it?

There is so many meat heads around that make decisions or are in power and make the wrong decisions on purpose, which should be called voluntary mistakes, to help themselves or their friends, you have to have a special temper to deal with this kind of behaviour and John Prince has that. Go for it John, and don’t change anything. They will eat in your hands soon, now they’re just nervous. Take care.

Will the EDC be an official "council committee" as defined in the MGA so it is subject to FOIP and pecuniary interest laws (MGA section 172)?

What are you saying? An official 'council committee' MGA are for people that are elected.
A committee: you are appointed by the council. You are a puppet for the elected people. If you listen good, you can stay there for a long time. However, if you decide to actually speak out with ideas of your own, different from the status quo, out you go. And don't come back!
This is just an illusion to make you feel good and believe there is hope. The direction still comes from the parasites.
