Former Crowsnest Pass resident and Pass Herald reporter Kimberley Massey writes a stinging forthright rebuke of our community in her new position as a reporter with the Rocky View Weekly.
This is just one of many scandals that have rocked the small mountain community of 5,565 in recent years, including many on which I reported during my time there. It was emotionally draining and relentlessly frustrating, to say the least.
I think of this and I am grateful to now be in Rocky View County.
Troubles in other communities offer perspective on Rocky View County
NOTE: This article came to me last night in my email box by way of my Google Alert notification. I should have posted it last night, but with Thanksgiving and all, not knowing Sasha JaegerBaird would beat me to the punch. Foolish me! I should have known, she never sleeps. :-)
The very purpose of existence is to reconcile the glowing opinion we have of ourselves with the appalling things that other people think about us.

Well after coming here from Rockyview, let me tell you they also have their issues.
Plus, I do not understand the incentive for a previous resident to trash where they lived. I do not like it. It is mean-spirited and does not do any good in any respect.
Its funny that this young lady can write what she is actually feeling or thinking now that she is away from the Herald. Good for her.
The "Herald" again. Aha. Makes sense now.
I'm not sure how she qualifies as the "sole" reporter out there, but otherwise, I worked some of the same stories as Kimberley, particularly during my brief time with the Promoter, and found her to be a competent competitor.
No John. I never seem to sleep. LOL
