UPDATE: Crowsnest Pass Firefighters: In a show of solidarity, the majority of the Crowsnest Pass firefighters turned in their pagers last night in support of Station 24 Fire Chief Jamie Margetak who was wrongly fired earlier this week. A skeleton crew of firefighters remain with pagers to attend to any call outs that may occur. The firefighters have NOT quit their duties with regards to fire protection, MVC, etc. This has created a public outcry for the removal of the Municipal Government and Administration.

At this point, I don't think I will allow my blog to be used to attack individual firefighters as scabs. Sorry!

THE person that call the firefighters scabs should be call scum i call them nothing but the best. Pick your one word to dicribe PERFECTION
I guess we know now what took place at the "IN Camera" meeting with council and interm fire chief Ken Brands. Seems like his worship had silenced him before he could leak out what was going to happen with the Fire Departments.You know that enough of the public would support council if they were up front and this course of action made financial sense. Just put yourself in Jamies shoes for one minute 34 years of dedication to this community and you get crapped on like that from counsel. I wouldnt take it either. The new fire chief shows up in his $60,000 truck provided by us then takes over your office at the fire hall. The guy hasnt been here six months and they treat him like gold. Why didn't one of the local fir chiefs apply quite simple, they dont trust this council or the mayor and know this will be a short term job.
