Chief Administrative Officer’s Report
Councillor Saje queried whether an In Camera conference call could be held with Council and the potential light manufacturing plant. The Chief Administrative Officer noted this may occur at a later date, with the planned conference call to include the CAO and Mayor to proceed as scheduled. Council will be updated on the outcome of the conference call.
Mayor and CAO don't want council involvement? Again!
It is becoming glaringly apparent that councillors are out of the loop on the most important things affecting our municipality and that our mayor is a one-man show needing only a compliant and subservient CAO to do his bidding, in the shadows, away from the limelight and cameras, which the mayor shares with no one but himself.
Wasn't it only last week we learned that no member of council had ever met or spoken with any member from Riversdale Resources, while this mayor and CAO claimed to have had several meetings and discussions with them over the last few months?
Based on this track record of councillors being deliberately left out of the loop begs the question. How much were they really privy to with this possibly dicey CLC-Medican company deal before voting 'unanimously' to quite possibly giving away the family farm?
UNAPPROVED COUNCIL MINUTES
JANUARY 22, 2013
BUSINESS OUT OF CAMERA
M#6748-13: Councillor Gallant moved that Council direct the Chief Administrative Officer to enter into a Sale and Construction Agreement for the Development of the former Crowsnest Centre Site with Medican General Contractors Ltd.
CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY
Did any of them do their homework/research with respect to looking into the background of this company, especially in lieu of their recent questionable and disconcerting problems in the last few years, and current precarious financial situation?
It certainly appears that our councillors serve no useful purpose other than to act as Yes Men, shepple for their master, the mayor.
They see not the problem they represent to our community for they are obviously blind and have been deliberately dumbed down to what is going on in their own backyard. How is it possible to expect due diligence from such people who see no problem in what is going on and how they are being used to further the ambitions of one man at our (and their) expense?
October cannot come soon enough!
The problem is not the problem; the problem is your attitude about the problem.

Thats funny I just posted something on this on Wards blog.
Lemmings they are.We could be in big trouble. I have wondered a few times on these blogs at to what is wrong with those 6 councilors. How can they always vote the same way on the big issues. Are they afraid of the Mare.
I don’t know when someone will hit that MARE in the head with a 2x4 or better 4x4 he deserves it. Again the MARE is just the mouth piece for the BARN as a whole. The Mayor in a normal town has no power whatsoever without the approval of the COUNCIL. This is the reason why HE wishes to do all his manipulation behind closed doors, and all in secret. The PUPPETS don’t understand they will be blamed for it. If you did not know you’re not representing the TAXPAYERS. If you know you, demand to participate in that meeting or you’re not doing your job. If the PUPPETS eat all that MANURE John will have a good reason to call them MUSHROOMS.
John I sat there when Mayor Decoux spoke about the rest of council getting to meet the Riversdale folks.
Then it was said that it will be great for the rest of council to meet the Centre developers when they come down and do their community presentation. After Councilor Saje attempted to get involved with the conference call to the Quebec manufacturers but was very quickly rebuffed. Other than Councilor Saje nobody else seemed to have any concerns or interest in becoming directly involved.

I think Council meetings must be held in public, and that includes telephone conferences.
I could be wrong. We'll see what the Inspector thinks.
After the mayor's recent performance of can't wait to get out of the gate over Riversdale he is unusually 'quite' on the selling of the CLC land to Medican, now isn't he? No press releases, nothing on the municipal website or on their fb page???

Nor in yesterday's Municipal Newsletter (January 23, 2013) or under the Mayor's Corner, or CAO Report?
The fellow is pretty quick to take credit for everything. Does not seem to like to share the spotlight.
The Mayor has decided that he is the kingpin in bringing in new business solo. Perhaps circumstances required this, and perhaps he is reacting to being challenged at every move and said to heck with it. If his efforts pay off for the Crowsnest, we are the winners. His promise was for one term and he stated that he would do many things that many would not like. We will see if he keeps that promise. The Council on the otherhand is a mystery. The pecking order was set early in the term and won't change. It appears maid Marion has more gonnads than all of them put together. Sad.
The kingpin is reacting to circumstances and is trying to get all the credit at all times. Unfortunately, he put himself in a position to accept all the blame as well. There are not many places in Alberta currently under provincial review. On whose desk rests the responsibility for the review?
The CAO is there to take the blame. The Council will hide under maid Marion's skirt and wait until it is clear to come out. The Mayor will be be planning where to put his Statue for being the Savior of the Crowsnest Pass, single Postal Code, and getting a new personalized license plate.
If you roll enough dice, a lucky 7 has to come up with at least one of them. Any one of the rolls hitting on 7 will help the Crowsnest. Give Him credit for trying.
Will someone please inform the MARE that... Leadership inspires not imposes. Leadership is dialogue not division. Leadership is listening not lecturing.

I try to understand your point. Please don't plan a trip to Vegas. Your betting would require you to remortgage your house.
A 'Lucky 7' doubles your wager on the come out roll. (by betting on passing the bar). If you feel that tossing the dice enough times will lead to a 'lucky 7', well once a point is made and you chuck a 7, game over, and you have actually 7'd out. Thousands of dollars invested by others are lost.
I would hope that you and the 'mare' don't shoot Craps together.
Running a Municipality should never be equated to gambling, and I hope that you don't put all your hope in a Mayor succeding by gambling to achieve success.
